Rustic Accessible Cabin

The Friends of Blue Mound State Park, The Sons of The American Legion, Deist Log Homes, Telephone Pioneers of America and Lycon Inc. built the rustic accessible cabin at Blue Mound for people with disabilities.  Anyone with a disability is eligible to reserve the cabin.

 The cabin features many amenities to make it a comfortable stay, but not so many luxuries as to take away from the camping experience:

• Paved driveway

• Electrical outlets and lighting

• Accessible picnic table and fire ring

• Accessible flush toilet and shower building is 200 ft from campsite with a paved surface all the way

• A double bunk bed and a full size bed with sleeping pads (bring your own bedding)

• Privacy curtain to separate sleeping area from table and chairs

Four people can comfortably stay inside the cabin, but a maximum of six people can stay on the campsite.  Only one tent is allowed on the campsite.

Space heaters and cooking are NOT allowed in the cabin.  Under state law, smoking is NOT allowed in the cabin.  No pets are allowed in the building except certified service animals.

The Rustic Accessible Cabin at Blue Mound is reservable from
May 1 to October 31.  All reservations for the cabin must be done through the park office.  Please contact them here.
