What is there to do?

  • Two forty foot observation towers, located in the picnic area, give a breathtaking view of Southwest Wisconsin

  • A Rustic Accessible Cabin is available for people with disabilities May1 - October 31.

  • Hiking<*dv_2*> and cross-country ski trails wind their way up and down the mound for beginners and experts

  • Try our new single-track mountain bike trail built by members of WORBA
    *Mountain bike trails open and close based on weather and trail conditions, contact park office for current conditions.

  • Interpretive programs during the summer months gives visitors an in-depth view on a variety of topics

Pool Hours  Pool is open Memorial Day to Labor Day
*** Note: Pool is closed now until Memorial Day 2006***

Monday-Friday  12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Saturday - Sunday  11:00 am - 7:00 pm
*The pool closes in bad weather or based on management decisions, call the park office for current conditions.

Ages 13 and up:  $2.00
Ages 2 - 12:  $1.00
Under 2:  Free

Directions

Blue Mound State Park is located about 20 miles west of Madison, WI on US highways 18/151.  If traveling on US hwy 18/151, turn north on County Trunk F.  Then turn left (west) on County Trunk ID.  This will bring you into the village of Blue Mounds.  Turn right (north) on Mounds Road.  Mounds Road will become Mounds Park Rd once it leaves the village.  From here just go straight up the hill!

If traveling on US hwy 14, turn south on County Trunk K.  Follow K through the hills to Mounds Park Rd.  Turn left (south) and follow Mounds Park Rd. through the hills until you come to the park.  If you make it to the village of Blue Mounds, you've gone too far...

*Vehicle admission pass required with camping fee.

The park has 78 campsites.  Sites 1-56 can be reserved through Reserve America.  Reservations are recommended every weekend in the summer and everyday for electric sites in the summer.
